Dr. Nicholas M Maiers

Nicholas Maiers joined the Des Moines University Physical Therapy Clinic in January of 2017. He is a ’09 graduate of the University of Iowa Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Prior to joining the DMU clinic, Nick worked in River Falls, Wisconsin treating a wide variety of patients including sports and orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics and neurological conditions. Nick has obtained advanced certification in manual therapy and pain neuroscience education through the International Spine and Pain Institute as well as certification in Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute. He is an Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. Nick is also an assistant professor in the Des Moines University Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Nick’s current clinical practice focuses on orthopedic, vestibular and neurological care across the life span with a special interest in the management of persistent pain. His academic role focuses on integrating pain neuroscience education throughout the curriculum.
